A Second Trip for More Deals

Okay, I thought I was done for the week but I really wanted to get the paper towels that are on sale. So, I went to another CVS and they had them. I purchased the 8 pack of Bounty Basic Paper Towels for $5.88 as advertised. I picked up another Xtra detergent on sale for $1.88 and used another $1/1 coupon for a price of $0.88. I also loved the Lubriderm deal and picked up another bottle marked down to $5.99 and used the $1.50 coupon bringing the price down to $4.49. I had $6 ECB to use. After my coupons and ECB my total for all 3 items was only $6.09! My savings were $13.71 double what I spent! Without coupons and ECB my total would have been $19.80 (even with these items being on sale). I'll take the 3 for only $6.09!

A GREAT Gift!

How will I organize my coupons? My good friend gave me the answer with this awesome coupon book that she made for me! It doesn't scream "crazy coupon lady" but serves the purpose. Best of all, it works! I was able to carry all of my coupons to the store with me today and made some awesome deals out of sale items because I had my coupons with me.
Thank you Lori!!!

Feb 9th CVS shopping trip

Not my best shopping trip ever but I did get some items that I needed that cost a little more. Today I purchased 2 Skintimate shaving creams since they were on sale for 2/$4. Not a bad deal. I purchased a gallon of McArthur milk for $3.14 a gallon (we need milk) and used $1/1 coupon for the chocolate milk making the 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk only $1. I got 2 boxes of Poptarts that were on sale for $1.99 and used $1/2 coupon to make the final cost $1.49 per box. I also got 2 boxes of Quaker granola bars 2/$5 with $2 ECB back=2/$3 or $1.50 per box. I wanted to take advantage of the Kraft macaroni & cheese deal 2/$6 with $3 ECB=2/$3 but they were out. I found Gilette Body Wash marked 50% off for a price of $2.74 and used $2/1 coupon for a final cost of $0.74. Bargain! I bought CVS foaming hand sanitizer marked down 50% off to $1.74 because we need more in the car. 1 Aquaphor hand therapy for $6.39 (not a deal but I need this). Glade sense & spray for 11.29 and used $3/1 coupon. Finally I took advantage of the spend $20 on Garnier get $10 ECB. I purchased 2 hairsprays (that I use) and used 2-$1/1 coupons, 1 hair paste using $1/1 coupon and a shampoo and conditioner using $1/1 coupon. CVS Shopping Trip 2/1/11

Lessons were learned today. I did get a few great deals. The first deal I took advantage of was the Kellogg's select cereals 3/$10 and get $4 ECB back. I scored big on this deal by using a BOGO coupon for Special K cereal with a $1/2 coupon for Special K. With my coupons the 3 boxes of Special K brought the cost down to 3 boxes for $5 plus $4 ECB back=3 boxes for $1!
The big lesson learned today....check the limit on these deals. I thought I'd be smart and hit another CVS to see what select cereals they had on this deal. They had Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran in the deal (both cereals we eat regularly). So, I bought 2 Raisin Bran cereals and used 2 coupons for $0.70/1 and a box of Frosted Flakes without a coupon (I figured it was still worth it to get the $4 ECB). Well, that was not the case. This deal has a limit of one time use. I still got a good deal on the 3 boxes of cereal just not as good of a deal as I expected. Always watch those limits!

Other deals: Unilever Deal is spend $15 on select Unilever products and get $5 ECB back. I bought 3 Bertollini Pasta Sauces prices at 3/$2, 3 Skippy Peanut Butter priced 3/$5 and used a $0.75/2 coupon, and 2 Lipton products price 2/$5 with 2 $0.60/1 coupons and got $5 ECB back. I paid about a dollar per item in the end.

I thought about taking advantage of the Coke deal which is spend $15 and get $5 ECB back but they did not have the products I wanted to purchase in stock. This is a great deal if you need to stock up on Coke products. Check out the Hip2Save website for how to take full advantage of this deal.

I did pick up a bottle of Dawn Hand Renewal for $0.97 and used a coupon for $0.50/1 for a final cost of $0.47. and I bought Puffs for $1 just because I needed these. I received a $0.50 coupon for chapstick at the magic coupon machine. Pair that with the BOGO offer for chapstick=2 cheap sticks of chapstick.

My total cost out of pocket today was $23.36 and I received $9 ECB to use next week. That brings my total down to $14.36 for all of the items pictured above! My total savings was $24.11 for today.
